Internet and Telecommunication
Examining the policy foundations of connectivity and an open digital ecosystem.
Overview
Connectivity enables people to access services, exchange ideas and participate in the digital economy. As internet and telecommunications services become more interconnected, regulatory decisions affect networks, digital businesses and users in different ways. The Dialogue studies this relationship, including the scope of telecom regulation, infrastructure development and cybersecurity responsibilities. Our work examines how policy can respond to technological change while recognising the distinctions between connectivity providers and services that operate over their networks. Through research and consultation responses, we assess implications for innovation, user rights and wider access.
